Basic Operation

Powering On/Off: Set the power switch to ON (I) to power on and OFF (O) to power off. Note that the camcorder uses standby power when OFF. Remove the battery pack for prolonged periods of non-use.

Setting the Clock: Upon first use or after replacing the backup battery, the Initial Setting display appears. Use the joystick or jog dial to set the date, time, and time zone. Completion of this setting hides the display.

Adjusting the Viewfinder: The viewfinder can be attached by loosening the fixing lever, pulling the slide stopper, attaching the connector, and tightening the lever. It can be adjusted for horizontal position and distance from the eye for optimal viewing.

Adjusting Focus: The eyepiece focusing ring allows for diopter compensation to match eyesight. Contrast and brightness can be adjusted using knobs on the back panel of the viewfinder.

Switching Modes: The viewfinder can display in color or monochrome. This can be selected via the VF SET menu or by assigning the function to an assignable button.
