Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Solution
Computer does not start Check power connections, battery installation, disconnect USB devices, remove memory modules, check power strip/UPS, ensure LCD backlight is on, allow for condensation to dissipate, use genuine Sony AC adapter.
Screen remains blank Ensure LCD backlight is on, close applications, restart computer, or perform a hard shutdown and restart.
Computer or software stops responding Close application windows, shut down computer, or restart. Reinstall software or contact support if issues persist.
Cannot connect to wireless LAN access point Check distance and obstructions, ensure WIRELESS switch is on, check access point power, verify network settings, and ensure 'Maximum Performance' is selected for Wireless Adapter Settings.
No sound from speakers or headphones Check program volume controls, ensure volume is not muted or minimized, check Windows volume controls, and verify sound output device configuration.
Touch pad does not work Ensure touch pad is enabled, check if a mouse is connected, close applications, or restart the computer.
