Getting Started

Step 1: Check Package Contents

Unpack the phone and supplied accessories. Ensure all items are present (AC power adaptor, base phone, handset, telephone line cords, wall bracket/stand, rechargeable battery pack, directories).

Step 2: Set Up Base Phone

Choose the best location for the base phone, away from potential interference sources like TVs, heat sources, and microwave ovens. Connect the telephone line cord to the base phone and wall outlet, and connect the AC power adaptor to the base phone and an AC outlet. Raise the antenna.

Step 3: Prepare Battery Pack

Slide open the battery compartment lid on the handset, connect the battery connector with correct polarity, and close the lid. Place the handset on the base phone to charge for at least 12 hours.

Making Calls

Pick up the handset and press TALK, or press SPEAKERPHONE on the base phone. Dial the phone number. To end the call, press OFF or replace the handset.

Receiving Calls

When the phone rings, press TALK on the handset or SPEAKERPHONE on the base phone. To end the call, press OFF or replace the handset.

Redialing

On the handset, press TALK, then REDIAL/PAUSE. On the base phone, press SPEAKERPHONE, then REDIAL/PAUSE.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Five short beeps when pressing TALK.• Check if the base unit is correctly installed (page 8).

Base phone does not ring.• Check if the base unit is correctly installed (page 8).
• Move the handset closer to the base phone.
• Place the handset on the base phone for a while to reset the random security code.
• Check if the telephone line cord is securely connected.
• Ensure the ringer type is set correctly (page 24).
During Conversation
Interference during conversation.• Move the handset closer to the base phone.
• Move the base phone away from noise sources (page 8).
• Press CHANNEL to select a channel with better reception quality.
Beep every three seconds.• Battery is weak. Charge for more than 12 hours.
Quick Dialing
Cannot store a speed dial number.• Ensure you followed the number storage procedure correctly (page 20).
• You cannot store numbers on the base phone while the handset is in use.
Cannot make a speed dial call.• Have you entered a dialing key that does not contain a stored number.
• Store a correct number (page 20).
Speed dialing is incorrect.• Store a correct number (page 20).
Call Answering Machine
Messages are not recorded.• Remaining recording time is less than 30 seconds, or 59 messages have been recorded. The answering system is full. Delete messages (page 40).
• Message duration is less than two seconds. The answering system will not record messages shorter than two seconds.
No sound through the base speaker.• Adjust speaker volume (page 40).
Caller's message was interrupted.• The caller's message was too long.
• The caller's voice was too low. The phone will disconnect the line after seven seconds of silence.
Operation from an External Phone
Clock display is incorrect.• Power supply was interrupted. Reset the time (page 32).
Phone does not accept remote ID code (security code).• Make the call from a tone dialing phone.
• Check if your remote ID code (security code) is correct.
• Ensure you enter the remote ID code (security code) within two seconds of entering #.
• You have entered the remote ID code (security code) incorrectly three times.
Line disconnects when calling from a tone dialing phone.• You have entered the remote ID code (security code) incorrectly three times.
Power Source/Battery
CHARGE lamp does not light up when placing handset to charge.• Clean the charging terminals of the base phone and handset with a soft cloth for better contact.
• Check if the handset is properly placed on the base phone.
Battery life is short.• The battery was charged for less than 12 hours (due to power failure, etc.).
• The usable life of the battery has expired and needs replacement.
