Setting up the phone

  1. Connect the telephone line cord and AC power adaptor to the base unit.
  2. Raise the antenna.
  3. Insert and charge the battery pack in the handset for over 12 hours.
  4. Choose the dialing mode (tone or pulse).

Making and receiving calls

  1. Pick up the handset, press TALK, and dial the number.
  2. To receive calls, press TALK when the phone rings.
  3. Replace the handset on the base unit or press OFF to end the call.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Remedy
The handset does not make or receive a call. Reset the digital security code. Place the base unit away from noise sources (TV, FM radio or PC).
You hear no dial tone. Make sure the base unit is connected to an AC outlet. The battery pack may be discharged. Charge the battery pack for more than 12 hours.
The handset does not connect at all, even the numbers you dial are correct. Make sure the telephone line cord is securely connected to the telephone outlet. Choose an appropriate dialing mode again.
The handset does not redial correctly. Make sure the number (including tone and pause digits) is less than 32 digits.
The handset does not make a speed dialing call. Make sure there is a phone number correctly stored in speed dialing. Store the desired phone number once more.
The handset does not ring. Make sure the base unit is connected to an AC outlet. The battery may have little or no power. Charge the battery pack for more than 12 hours. Place the base unit away from noise sources.
The handset does not ring when paging from the base unit. Charge the battery pack for more than 12 hours.
You hear a beep every three seconds and the TALK/BATT LOW lamp flashes. The battery pack may be discharged. Charge the battery pack for more than one minute. For full charging, more than 12 hours are necessary.
