Getting Started

Step 1: Check Package Contents (Page 5)

  • Unpack the phone and accessories.

Step 2: Set up the base phone (Pages 6-8)

  • Choose the best location for the base phone.
  • Connect the base phone to power and phone line.
  • Select the dialing mode (Tone or Pulse).

Step 3: Prepare the battery pack (Pages 9-10)

  • Charge the handset battery for over 12 hours.

Step 4: Enter your area code (Page 11)

  • Enter your area code for Caller ID service.

Basics

Making Calls (Page 12)

  • Pick up the handset and press TALK/CALL WAITING/FLASH.
  • Dial the phone number.
  • Press OFF or place handset on base to end call.

Receiving Calls (Page 15)

  • Press TALK/CALL WAITING/FLASH or pick up handset.
  • Press OFF or place handset on base to end call.

Redialing (Page 14)

  • Press TALK/CALL WAITING/FLASH, then REDIAL/PAUSE.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Remedy
Five short beeps when pressing TALK/CALL WAITING/FLASH • Ensure the base is installed correctly (page 6).
• Move the handset closer to the base.
• Reseat the handset on the base, then pick it up and try again. If the handset is on the base, pick it up and reseat it on the base.
You do not hear the dial tone. • Ensure the telephone cord is securely connected to the telephone jack.
The telephone does not establish connection, even if the number you have dialed is correct. • Ensure the battery is completely charged (page 9).
• Ensure the dialing mode setting is correct (page 8).
The telephone does not redial correctly. • Ensure that the last number dialed is actually the number you intended to dial.
• The last number dialed exceeds 32 digits (including tone and pause digits, if any).
• The last number dialed has been erased.
You hear five short error beeps when you try to redial the number, and "OUT OF RANGE" is displayed on the screen. • Move the handset closer to the base and repeat the redial operations.
You do not hear anything through the speaker. • Move the SPEAKER VOLUME control on the base to increase the volume.
The handset does not ring. • Set the RING switch on the handset to ON.
• The battery may be depleted. Recharge the battery for more than 12 hours (page 9).
• Ensure the base is installed correctly (page 6).
• Move the handset closer to the base.
• Reseat the handset on the base, then pick it up and try again. If the handset is on the base, pick it up and reseat it on the base.
The base does not ring. • Set the RINGER switch on the base to ON.
• Ensure the telephone cord is securely connected to the telephone jack.
