| Troubleshooting | |
| The screen icons do not function. During map display, operations may take some time. | |
| The unit does not turn on. → Check if the POWER switch on the bottom left is ON. → Charge the internal battery. - Install the unit correctly according to the supplied installation manual. - Connect the unit to a power outlet using the AC adapter and power cable. | |
| Cannot charge the internal battery. → Check if the POWER switch is ON. → If using the AC adapter, disconnect and reconnect it. - The internal lithium-ion battery can only be charged between 5-45 °C. Direct sunlight can raise the internal temperature and prevent charging, which is not a malfunction. | |
| Cannot receive GPS signal. • Read the general description of GPS (page 6). • The system cannot receive GPS signals due to an obstacle. → Drive to a location where signals can be clearly received. • Weak GPS signal reception. → Check GPS status by selecting "More..." → "Status GPS" from the main menu. • Obstacle in front of the GPS antenna. Install the unit where the signal is not interrupted by the car body, etc. • GPS signal reception may be affected by a heated or heat-reflecting windshield. → Use the optional external GPS antenna VCA-41. | |
| The car's position on the map does not correspond to the current road. The GPS signal error margin is too large. There may be a maximum error of several hundred meters. | |
| Cannot hear voice guidance. The sound volume is too low. → Increase the volume by touching ▶⌂ in the main menu or map screen. If the unit is powered by the internal battery, the volume may decrease slightly. | |
| The LCD display is poor. • If the temperature is too high, the LCD may become dark, making it difficult to see. At low temperatures, a residual image may appear on the LCD. This is not a malfunction; the LCD will return to normal when the temperature returns to specified operating values. • The LCD is dark. → The automatic dimming function may have been activated by covering the sensor with your hand (page 9), etc. | |
| The suction cup mount comes off. Suction force decreases if the surface of the suction cup is dirty. → Wash and clean the suction cup and the surface where it was attached. (page 25). | |
| The demo mode starts automatically even if no operation is performed. → Deactivate automatic demo mode by selecting "More..." → "Settings" → "Basic Settings" → "Demo Mode" from the main menu. Then, confirm that "Demo Mode" is deactivated. | |
| Resetting the unit If the navigation software stops working, try resetting the unit. Press the RESET button with a pointed object, such as a ballpoint pen (page 8). If the problem cannot be resolved, turn off the unit by setting the POWER switch to OFF and then turn it back on after about 10 seconds (page 9). Note It may take some time to receive GPS signals after turning off the power and then turning the unit back on. |
