Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
The unit does not turn on. - Charge the built-in battery.
- Ensure the car battery adapter is securely inserted.
The unit turns on automatically (display off), even when not in use (NV-U94T/U84 only). This occurs when internal temperature is excessive; it enters battery discharge mode to protect the battery.
The built-in battery cannot be charged. - Turn the unit on, then off.
- If using car battery adapter, disconnect and reconnect.
- Turn on the computer during USB charging.
- Battery charges between 5-45 °C. Charging may be affected by direct sunlight.
- If usage time is excessively short, the battery may have deteriorated (NV-U94T/U84 only). Contact Customer Support.
The LCD is not displayed normally. High temperatures may cause darkening; low temperatures may cause afterimage. These are temporary and the LCD will return to normal when temperatures normalize.
The cradle comes off the attachment surface. Clean the suction cup and attachment surface with a soft, wet, lint-free cloth.
No GPS signal is received. Read GPS overview, check GPS status in menu. Move car to a clear location. Ensure GPS antenna is not obstructed. Use external GPS antenna if windshield material affects reception.
Car position on map does not match current road. This may be due to a large GPS signal error margin.
Voice guidance cannot be heard. Raise the volume.
Demonstration mode starts automatically. Turn off "Automatic Demonstration" in the "General" menu.
Bluetooth device cannot be detected. Set "Bluetooth Signal" to "ON." Disconnect existing connections. Search again. Check pairing procedures. Consult Sony website. Search from the other device if necessary.
Bluetooth connection is not possible. Perform pairing again. Check other device's manual and connection procedures. Verify compatibility on Sony website. Search from the other device.
Detected device name does not appear. Perform pairing again. Name may not be obtainable depending on the other device.
Caller's voice volume is low. Adjust volume using +/- buttons.
Echo or noise during hands-free calls. Lower volume. Reduce ambient noise (e.g., close window, lower air conditioner).
Caller's voice quality is poor. Depends on cellphone reception. Move to an area with better signal.
Some functions are not available. Check if the connected device supports the functions.
Other party's name does not appear when receiving a call. Store contact in phone book. Ensure caller's phone is set to send number.
Pairing failed due to timeout. Try completing pairing within the time limit.
No sound from unit's speaker during hands-free call. If sound outputs from cellphone, set cellphone to output sound to unit's speaker.
