Sony warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship for one year from the date of original purchase.
Checking the box contents: Ensure all items are received: Main unit, Cradle, USB cable, Car battery adapter, TMC antenna (NV-U94T only), Quick Start Guide, Important Information, End-User License Agreement, Warranty Card.
Location of controls: Familiarize yourself with the unit's buttons and indicators, including the power switch, microphone, MENU button, VOICE/POS. button, display, Bluetooth indicator, and charging indicator.
Installation/Connection: Attach the cradle to your car's dashboard or windshield using the suction cup. Connect the car battery adapter to the cigarette lighter socket. Attach the unit to the cradle and adjust the monitor angle.
Turning on the unit: Park in a safe location with a clear sky view. Slide the power switch. Follow the on-screen Startup Configuration Wizard. Agree to the warning. Touch VOICE/POS. and wait for GPS signal lock.
Main menu: Access various functions like Navigate, Enter Address, Take Me Home, Find a Place, My Places, and Settings.
Searching by address: Use MENU to enter an address by house number, street name, and city name. Touch "Go!" to start navigation.
Searching by POI: Use MENU to "Find a Place." Select "Points of Interest" and then search "By Name" or by "Category." Touch "Go." to navigate to the selected POI.
Map display: Understand the map elements including distance/ETA, next turn instruction, current speed, and GPS status.
