"Black box" on screen A text option may have been selected with no available text. Set Closed Captions to Off, or select CC1 instead of Text1-4.
Black bands appear at the edges of the screen Some widescreen programs have aspect ratios greater than 16:9. Programs in 4:3 aspect ratio will have bands on the sides. HD formats with 4:3 content may also have black bands. Auto Wide will not expand the picture automatically. Use Wide Zoom or Zoom to fill the screen.
