The Statox 501 / S sensor heads are intrinsically safe 4-20 mA transmitters (current mode). They can be connected directly to the Statox 501 Control Module. There are two main types: for combustible gases and for toxic gases and oxygen. Combustible gas heads come in various versions (HRC, HRC-ARE, LRC, LCIR), while toxic/oxygen heads use electrochemical sensors. Installation requires following specific safety guidelines, including mounting in classified areas with intrinsically safe repeaters. Calibration is an essential step after installation or sensor replacement, performed for gases or vapors, and in some cases, via current calibration. Catalytic sensors may lose sensitivity and require replacement.
