Controls common to both tape decks

1 Power "standby/on" switch: Switches ON and OFF the secondary circuit power. The unit is in the "standby" condition when this switch is set to the "standby " position. The primary circuit is always "live" as long as the power cord is connected.

2 Dolby noise-reduction indicators: Illuminates to show the type of Dolby noise-reduction system selected.

3 Input level meter: Indicates the level of the recorded sound source during playback or the recording level during recording.

4 Reverse-mode indicators: Shows which reverse mode was selected.

5 Edit-recording tape-speed indicators: Shows which tape-to-tape recording speed was selected.

6 Timer switch: Used to automatically begin a tape recording or playback at a certain time, selected by an optional timer.

7 Headphones jack: Connect headphones.

8 Synchro-start button: Starts tape-to-tape recording simultaneously.

9 Reverse-mode selectors: Selects the reverse mode.

10 Dolby noise-reduction buttons: Reduces hiss noise using B-type and C-type systems.

11 Recording-level controls: Regulates the recording level.

12 Edit-recording tape-speed buttons: Selects recording speed for tape-to-tape recording.
