Warranty Information

Toro offers a five-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

The Toro wireless rain sensor system (TWRS-I for rain sensing, TWRFS-I for rain/freeze) communicates with a receiver module connected to your irrigation controller. Once activated by rain or low temperatures, it holds or bypasses watering. The system offers features like Smart Bypass, Water Delay, and Water Conservation, which adjusts dry-out periods based on soil type and sensor location. Installation involves placing the receiver near the controller and the sensor in an optimal outdoor location for rainfall and signal reception. The system can be tested before final sensor installation.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Solutions
Signal strength is weak or inconsistent.

1. Ensure sensor is within 152.4m (500') LOS.

2. Check for obstructions like buildings or dense walls.

3. Verify there are no sources of radio frequency interference.

4. Relocate the sensor to a more optimal location.

The receiver display is blank.

1. Check 24 Vac power connections to the receiver. Ensure they are not connected to station or pump/master valve terminals.

The sensor module does not activate the receiver at close range.

1. Reset the sensor module address code.

2. Remove and replace the sensor module batteries.

The sensor system works, but the controller does not respond to the sensor.

1. Verify the Yellow or Brown wire connection. Brown is for Normally Closed (NC) operation, Yellow for Normally Open (NO).
