Warranty Information

This warranty covers the Toro Wireless Rain Sensor models TWRS and TWRFS for five years from the date of installation.

The Toro Wireless RainSensor system, comprising a programmable receiver and a remote sensor module, automatically suspends irrigation when a set rainfall amount or temperature is met. The receiver connects to the irrigation controller and the sensor module is mounted outdoors. The system uses an ultra high-frequency radio signal for communication. Users can program a delay for the controller to resume operation after the sensor resets, and also activate a "Rain Delay" mode for inclement weather. The system features adjustable rainfall sensitivity and can be temporarily bypassed using the "Smart Bypass" button.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Reception Problems
  • Ensure antennas are straight and fully extended (up on receiver, down on sensor).
  • Maintain parallel antenna orientation.
  • Avoid proximity to large metal objects.
  • Mount units as close together as possible.
  • Experiment with different locations (even a few feet can help).
  • Avoid installing the sensor module directly above the receiver.
  • When passing through walls, aim for a straight path to minimize thickness.
Sensor not activating
  • Check receiver wiring connections at the controller.
  • Ensure the controller's sensor control or bypass switch is active.
  • Verify the sensor module is not in contact with sprinkler spray or roof runoff.
  • Check the installed rainfall threshold setting.
Sprinklers do not shut off
  • Recheck receiver wiring connections at the controller.
  • Ensure the controller's sensor control or bypass switch is set to enable the sensor circuit.
