Getting Started

Loading the battery

Remove the protective film from the battery before use. Slide the safety latch, open the battery cover, remove the battery, pull off the protective film, and reinsert the battery with correct polarity. Close the battery cover.

Charge your battery

Turn off the camcorder. Use the supplied AC adapter or USB cable to charge. A blinking light indicates charging, and a solid light indicates charging is complete. Full charge takes approximately 4 hours.

Inserting and removing an SD™ Card

An SD™ card may need to be purchased separately. Slide the safety latch and open the SD™ Card cover. Insert the memory card into the slot until it locks. To remove, press inward to release, then grasp and pull it out.

Protecting data on an SD™ Card

Photos or videos cannot be recorded when the card is locked (read only). Ensure the lock is in the writable position before recording.

Turning the camcorder on and getting started

Flip the LCD touch screen outward or press the Power button to turn on. Press the Video button to record, and the Photo button to take a still photo.

Turning off the camcorder

Press the Power button for one second, or place the LCD touch screen back to its original position.

Troubleshooting and error codes

The preview on the LCD touch screen is not clear while recording.Try switching between Macro and Normal modes.
Files on the memory card do not appear correctly when the LCD touch screen displays the "!" mark.The "!" symbol indicates the SD™ card speed is too low or the card contains corrupted files. Format the SD™ card using the camcorder. Replace the SD/SDHC/SDXC card with a high-speed card.
Some indoor photos appear dark and blurry.The camcorder extends exposure time for indoor shots or low lighting. Hold the camcorder (and lens) steady for several seconds while taking photos.
