Warranty Information

Basic Operation

  • Watching TV Programs: Turn on the TV using the POWER button. Select channels using the CHANNEL buttons or by entering the channel number directly. Adjust volume with the VOLUME buttons.
  • Convenient Remote Functions: Use RECALL to display on-screen information, MUTE to silence sound temporarily, and CH RTN to switch between the last two channels viewed.
  • Setting the Off-Timer (Sleep Timer): Set the TV to turn off automatically by pressing the TIMER button or using the on-screen menu.
  • Selecting Stereo/SAP Broadcasts: Listen to stereo sound or second audio programs by adjusting the MTS settings in the Audio menu. Activate the surround sound effect using the SUR button.
  • Adjusting the Picture: Modify CONTRAST, BRIGHTNESS, SHARPNESS, COLOR, and TINT using the Picture menu. Reset to factory settings with the RESET button.
  • Adjusting the Sound: Fine-tune BASS, TREBLE, and BALANCE in the Audio menu. Reset sound adjustments with the RESET button.

Advanced Operation

  • Using Closed-Captioned Function: View captions by selecting the program and using the C.CAPT button or menu options.
  • Viewing Text: Access text-based information (news, weather) by selecting the program and using the C.CAPT button or menu options.
  • Locking Channels: Prevent unauthorized viewing of specific channels by setting a 4-digit code.
  • Programming Favorite Channels: Set up to 12 favorite channels for quick access using the FAV buttons.
  • Changing On-Screen Display Language: Select ENGLISH, FRENCH, or SPANISH for on-screen menus and messages.
  • Demonstration Mode: Activate a self-running demonstration of the TV's features.

Equipment Connections

  • Connecting Video Equipment: Connect VCRs or other video devices to the VIDEO/AUDIO IN jacks on the rear of the TV. Select the input source using the TV/VIDEO button.

Unable to select a certain channel That channel may be locked out with CH LOCK function (page 20), or erased with the ADD/ ERASE function (page 10). Try another channel.

Multiple images (ghosts) May be station trouble. Check antenna connections. Try another channel.

Poor color or No color May be station trouble. Check antenna connections. Check antenna for broken wires. May be local interference from an appliance. Check if station is broadcasting in color. If you change the direction of the TV while the TV is activated, the picture may suffer from color shading. If so, turn off the TV and allow for about 30 minutes to cool, then turn on the TV again. The picture should improve. Try another channel.

No stereo or SAP sound from a known MTS broadcast Check if MTS function is properly set. -
Remote Control does not work Be sure power cord is plugged in. Check battery in Remote Control. Change batteries.
