Starting Your Dryer

  1. Clean lint screen before each load.
  2. Place laundry in dryer and shut door.
  3. Press the POWER button, then rotate the dial to select either an Automatic or Manual Cycle.
  4. Select DRYNESS LEVEL to adjust how dry you want the load to be.
  5. Press the WRINKLE SHIELD™ feature button if this option is desired.
  6. Press the CYCLE SIGNAL button to set end of cycle signal volume to desired level.
  7. Press and hold START button until dryer starts.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Dryer will not run Blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker Check and reset/replace fuse or breaker. Call electrician if problem persists.
Incorrect power supply Ensure 240-volt supply. Check with electrician.
Incorrect fuse type Use a time-delay fuse.
Door not closed Ensure dryer door is firmly closed.
Start button not pressed firmly Press and hold Start button for 2-5 seconds for large loads.
No heat Blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker Check and reset/replace fuse or breaker. Call electrician if problem persists.
Unusual sounds Dryer has been idle Thumping sound may occur for first few minutes of operation.
Object caught in drum Check drum edges for coins, buttons, etc. Empty pockets before laundering.
Dryer not level Ensure all four legs are installed and dryer is level. See Installation Instructions.
Clothing knotted or balled up Separate load and restart dryer.
Dryer displaying code message "PF" (power failure) Check if drying cycle was interrupted by power failure. Press and hold START.
"E" (E1, E2, E3) service codes Call for service.
"L2" Diagnostic Code Check fuses/breakers. Select Timed Dry heated cycle and restart. Consult qualified electrician if problem persists. Dryer will continue to run; press any key to clear code.
"AF" Diagnostic Code Check vent for kinks, obstructions, lint, or debris. Ensure vent system meets recommended length and elbow count. Select Timed Dry heated cycle and restart. Have home venting cleaned if problem persists. Dryer will continue to run; press any key to clear code.
Clothes not drying satisfactorily, drying times too long, or load too hot Clogged lint screen Clean lint screen before each load.
Clogged exhaust vent or hood Run dryer for 5-10 minutes. Check for air movement at hood. Clean or replace vent.
Fabric softener sheets blocking grille Use only one sheet per load.
Exhaust vent too long or has too many turns See Installation Instructions.
Incorrect exhaust vent diameter Use 4" (10.2 cm) diameter vent material.
Room temperature below 45°F (7°C) Dryer requires temperatures above 45°F (7°C) for proper operation.
Dryer located in a closet Ensure closet doors have ventilation openings and adequate airspace. See Installation Instructions.
Air Only temperature setting selected Select correct temperature for garments.
Load too large/heavy Separate load for free tumbling.
Refresh cycle leaving damp/wet spots Select Touch Up cycle and adjust time/temperature.
Cycle time too short Automatic cycle ending early Ensure load contacts sensor strips. Level dryer. Change dryness level setting.
Lint on load Clogged lint screen Clean lint screen. Check for air movement.
Stains on load or drum Improper use of fabric softener sheets Add sheets at beginning of cycle. Do not use with steam cycles. Drum stains may be from dyes in clothing.
