Whirlpool offers a 1-year full warranty and a 5-year warranty for the ceramic glass cooktop.
Cooktop Controls: The control knobs can be set anywhere between HI and LO. Push in and turn to setting. The surface cooking area locator shows which element is turned on. Heat settings range from HI for starting food cooking and boiling liquids, to LO for keeping food warm or melting butter.
Ceramic Glass Care: The surface may glow red when hot. Clean spills promptly to prevent pitting. Use only dry potholders. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use cookware sized to the cooking area. Flat-bottomed cookware is recommended for even heating.
Dual Watt Element: Use single size for average cookware and quantities, dual size for home canning, large diameter cookware, and large food quantities.
Home Canning: Alternate cooking surfaces between batches. Center the canner on the cooking area. Ensure flat-bottomed canners for ceramic glass models.
General Cleaning: Ensure controls are off and cooktop is cool. Use mild soap, water, and a soft cloth. Specific cleaners are recommended for stainless steel and ceramic glass surfaces.
