This manual provides technical data, procedures for maintenance, and repair of the Whirlpool AKM160/IX Gas Cooktop.   • Gas Jet Replacement: Turn off gas, remove burners, unscrew jets with a 7mm socket, replace with appropriate jet, and check for leaks.
  • Flame Adjustment: Set control knob to minimum, remove knob, adjust screw in gas valve base until flame bead is ~4mm long, ensure flame doesn't extinguish when adjusting knob quickly. For propane, screw in fully. Check for leaks.
  • Hob Removal: Remove screws holding hob to base, lift hob. To remove base from benchtop, isolate gas/electric, release clamps.
  • Ignition Component Replacement: Remove hob, replace ignition pack by freeing tabs, use push-on connections. Replace spark plugs by removing securing screws/circlips. Reassemble carefully, check operations and for leaks.
