Warranty Information

Whirlpool offers a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.

Clock

Touch CLOCK, enter time, then touch CLOCK or Start.

Timer

Touch Timer, enter time, then touch Timer or Start. Cook functions can be entered while the Timer is counting down. Touch Timer to cancel.

Control Lock

Touch and hold Cancel for 3 seconds until 2 tones sound and Padlock icon appears. Repeat to unlock.

Vent Fan

High (SPd2), low (SPd1), or off. Comes on automatically as a cooling fan. Vent Timer (on some models) allows setting the fan for 30 minutes.

Tones

Touch and hold "1" for 3 seconds to turn off programming tones. Touch and hold "2" for 3 seconds to turn off all tones. Repeat to turn back on.

Demo Mode

Touch and hold "3" for 3 seconds until "DEMO" icon lights up. Repeat to deactivate.

Standby Mode

Oven switches to Standby Power mode and dims display after 5 minutes of inactivity. Press any button or open/close door to brighten.

Turntable

Ensure turntable is in place for best cooking results.

Troubleshooting and error codes

If you experience Recommended Solutions
Microwave oven will not operate Check the following: Household fuse or circuit breaker. Magnetron (test with water). Door (ensure it is firmly closed, remove packaging spacer if present). Control (ensure it is set properly, Control Lock is OFF, Demo mode is OFF).
Arcing in the microwave oven Check the following: Soil buildup on cavity walls, microwave inlet cover, cooking rack supports, and door area. Clean according to "General Cleaning" instructions.
Turntable alternates rotation directions This is normal and depends on motor rotation at the beginning of the cycle.
Display shows messages A flashing ":" or "PF" means power failure; reset the clock. A letter followed by a number is an error indicator; call for assistance.
Fan running during cooktop usage This is normal. The microwave oven's cooling fan automatically comes on during operation. It may also cycle on and off to cool controls while the cooktop is in use.
Radio, TV, or cordless phone interference Check the following: Proximity (move receiver away or adjust antenna). Soil (ensure door and sealing surfaces are clean). Frequency (some 2.4 GHz cordless phones and wireless networks may cause interference; use a corded phone or avoid using during operation).
