Warranty Information

Whirlpool provides a limited one-year warranty on the appliance and a limited five-year warranty on the liner and sealed system.

Using the Controls

The refrigerator and freezer controls are preset at the factory. The recommended settings are 37°F (3°C) for the refrigerator and 0°F (-18°C) for the freezer. Wait 24 hours before putting food in. Adjusting set points colder won't cool faster. Check air vents for blockages before adjusting temperatures. Allow 24 hours between adjustments.

Temperature Adjustment

Press and hold TEMP for 3 seconds to activate Temperature mode. Use TEMP to toggle between Fridge and Freezer. Press LOCK to raise set points or OPTIONS to lower them. Press FAST ICE to save settings.

Cooling On/Off

Press and hold LOCK and FAST ICE for 3 seconds to turn cooling off. "Cooling Off" will blink and remain lit. Controls (except Lock and Fast Ice) are disabled. Press and hold LOCK and FAST ICE for 3 seconds to turn cooling on.

Fast Ice

Press FAST ICE to turn on for increased ice production. Icon appears on display. Stays on for 24 hours or until manually turned off.

Filter Status

Displays remaining water filter life (0-100%). Press OPTIONS, then OPTIONS under Filter Status. Yellow ORDER FILTER, Red REPLACE FILTER.

Vacation Mode

Press OPTIONS, then LOCK to activate. Freezer defrosts less often. Opening doors after 1 hour turns off Vacation Mode. Opening doors, Fast Ice, or Door Ajar alarm cancels Vacation Mode.

Door Ajar Alarm

Sounds if a door or drawer is open for 5 minutes while cooling is on. Repeats every 2 minutes. Close doors to turn off. Press any button to mute audible alarm.

Disabling Sounds

Press and hold ICE/WATER and FAST ICE for 3 seconds to disable control/dispenser sounds (alert tones remain). Press again to re-enable.

Showroom Mode

Display shows "Showroom". Press and hold LIGHT and LOCK for 3 seconds to exit.

Troubleshooting and error codes

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTIONS
The refrigerator motor seems to run too much. High-efficiency compressor and fans. Larger, more energy-efficient refrigerators run longer at lower speeds. This is normal and more energy efficient.
Ambient or outdoor temperature is high. It is normal for the refrigerator to run longer under these conditions. For optimal performance, place the refrigerator in a climate-controlled environment.
A large amount of warm food has been added recently. Warm food will cause the refrigerator to run longer until it cools down.
Doors are opened too frequently or left open too long. The warm air entering the refrigerator will cause it to run longer. Open doors less frequently.
Door or bin is not sealing properly. Ensure the refrigerator is level. Prevent items from blocking the door.
Refrigerator control is set too low. Adjust the control to a warmer setting and check the temperature in 24 hours.
Door gasket is dirty, worn, or torn. Clean or replace the gasket. Leaks will cause the refrigerator to run longer.
The lights do not work. LED lights do not need replacement. If the refrigerator has power and the lights don't illuminate when a door or drawer is opened, call for service.
Dispenser light is set to OFF (on some models). The dispenser light may only work when a dispenser paddle is pressed. Refer to "Water and Ice Dispensers" for continuous operation.
LED lights under shelves do not illuminate (on some models). Doors have been open for more than 10 minutes. Close the doors and drawer to reset; open them to resume the function.
Shelf hooks are not fully seated in shelf supports. Verify that the rear shelf hooks are fully seated in the shelf supports.
Not turning on/No response from the dispenser control panel. Shelf supports are loose. Check and tighten all shelf support screws.
Doors have been open for more than 10 minutes. Close the doors and drawer to reset; open them to resume the function.
Refrigerator is in Cooling Off mode. Exit Cooling Off mode. See "Using the Controls."
Refrigerator control initialization process not completed successfully. Unplug the refrigerator for 5 seconds, plug it back in, and wait 30 seconds before opening doors or touching the control panel.
