DRIVE SYSTEM: The bi-directional PSC motor provides agitation and variable spin speeds via pulsed power. The non-serviceable, belt-driven transmission connects the motor to the agitator and basket through a splutch mechanism.

SPLUTCH: This component, made of five parts, connects the agitator to the pulley and the basket to the transmission via inner splines. A cam ring controls the engagement of the basket drive gear to the pulley teeth, allowing the basket to spin with the agitator.

ACTUATOR: This synchronous motor shifts the splutch slider, monitors its position, and includes a transmission speed/position optical sensor.

LID LOCK MECHANISM: Ensures the lid remains locked during operation for safety. It includes a switch to detect lid closure, a latch solenoid, and a switch to confirm the lock.

CONTROL PANEL: Features include an ECO MONITOR for energy/water savings, a Wash Cycle Knob, Cycle Options, TEMP control, Soil Level adjustment, and Spin Speed selection.

Troubleshooting and error codes

TEST # DESCRIPTION
TEST #1: Main Control Checks incoming and outgoing power to and from the main control. Involves checking DC voltages, LED status, and connectors.
TEST #2: Valves Checks electrical connections to and functionality of the water valves (Cold, Hot, Oxi, Fabric Softener). Involves resistance checks of valve coils.
TEST #3a: Drive System – Shifter Checks connections, shifter motor, switch, and optical sensor. Involves checking basket rotation, connector seating, and shifter motor resistance.
TEST #3b: Drive System – Motor Checks the motor, windings, wiring, and start capacitor. Involves AC voltage checks during rotation and resistance measurements of windings.
TEST #4: Console and Indicators Checks the cycle selector knob, indicators, buttons, beeper, and display. Involves UI test mode and checking connector seating.
TEST #5: Temperature Thermistor Checks valves, main control, temperature thermistor, and wiring. Involves checking water valve operation and thermistor resistance.
TEST #6: Water Level Checks water level sensing components, primarily the pressure transducer. Involves checking for automatic valve shut-off and hose integrity.
TEST #7: Drain Pump Checks for obstructions and the drain pump's electrical connections. Involves manual drain test and checking connections.
