| If you experience | Possible Causes | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Vibration or Off-Balance | Feet may not be in contact with the floor and locked. | Front and rear feet must be in firm contact with floor, and washer must be level to operate properly. |
| Washer may not be level. | Verify that the floor isn't warped or sagging. Use a 3/4" (19 mm) piece of plywood to reduce sound if needed. See "Level the Washer" in Installation Instructions. | |
| Load could be unbalanced. | Load items in loose heaps evenly around the washplate. Do not pack tightly. Avoid washing single items. Use Bulky Items/Sheets cycle for oversized, non-absorbent items. See "Cycle Guide" and "Using Your Washer". | |
| Noises | Clicking or metallic noises. | Empty pockets. Check for items caught in drain system. Normal to hear metal items on clothing touch stainless steel basket. |
| Gurgling or humming. | Washer may be draining water. Normal to hear pump making a continuous humming sound with periodic gurgling or surging during spin/drain cycles. | |
| Humming. | Load sensing may be occurring. Normal to hear hum of sensing spins after washer starts. | |
| Whirring. | Basket deceleration may be occurring. Normal to hear whirring sound of basket decelerating. | |
| Objects could get caught in washer drain system. | Empty pockets. Loose items could fall between basket and tub or block pump. May require service. | |
| Water Leaks | Washer not level. | Water may splash off basket if washer is not level. Check that load is not unbalanced or tightly packed. |
| Fill hoses not attached tightly. | Tighten fill-hose connection. | |
| Fill hose washers. | Make sure all four fill hose flat washers are properly seated. | |
| Drain hose connection. | Pull drain hose from washer cabinet and secure to drainpipe or laundry tub. Do not place tape over drain opening. Check household plumbing for leaks. | |
| Washer not performing as expected | Not enough water in washer. Load not completely covered in water. | Normal operation for HE low-water washer. Load not completely submerged. See "What's New Under the Lid." IMPORTANT: Do not add more water. |
| Washer won't run or fill, washer stops working or wash light remains on. | Check for proper water supply. Check electrical supply. Normal washer operation. Washer may be tightly packed. Not using HE detergent or using too much HE detergent. Check hoses, faucets, valve screens, kinks. Ensure proper electrical connection and outlet function. Reset breaker/fuse. Lid must be closed. Washer may pause. Remove items if packed too tightly. Add only 1-2 items after starting. Do not add more water. Use only HE detergent, measure correctly. To remove suds, cancel cycle, select Rinse & Spin. |
