TO SERVICE PERSONNEL
1. Critical Components Information: Components marked with $\triangle$ must be replaced with parts of equal specifications. 2. Leakage Current Measurement (120V Models): Verify insulation of conductive surfaces after service. Leakage current must not exceed 0.5mA. Test with AC plug in both polarities. CAUTION: Fire risk, replace fuse F801 only with same type 500mA, 250V. WARNING: Contains chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Avoid contact with solder and components; wash hands after handling. WARNING: Laser Safety: Avoid eye and skin exposure to the laser beam (30cm/1ft minimum distance). Do not attempt to readjust or repair the laser pick-up unit unless specified. CAUTION: Use of controls other than specified may result in hazardous radiation exposure. Laser Emitting Conditions: Laser emits during disc detection (5-10 sec) when top cover is removed. Do not service during this period. Laser power is factory set and should not be adjusted without instruction. Laser Diode Properties: Type GaAlAs, Wavelength 790nm, Output max. 1.23 µW. Warning for power supply: Primary side carries live mains voltage when connected. Primary area is not shielded. Take precautions to avoid touching copper tracks or components. Note: DVD mechanism screws should not be touched, removed, or re-adjusted. Handle DVD mechanism with care; it is sensitive to shocks. Prevention of Electrostatic Discharge: Handle sensitive components (ICs, FETs, chips) with care to prevent damage from static electricity. Use ESD wrist straps, conductive surfaces, grounded-tip soldering irons, and anti-static solder removal devices. Avoid freon-propelled chemicals. Grounding: Human body grounding via wrist strap. Work table grounding with conductive material. Caution: Clothes static is not grounded via wrist strap; keep clothes away from optical pickup. Test Mode: Starting test mode requires pressing CD/USB, Skip/Search forward, and Pause keys while powering on the unit. Indicators and FL display should light up, then turn off. Factory Mode: Starting factory mode requires pressing Play and Stop keys while powering on the unit. Firmware Updating: Follow procedures for connecting, using FlashSta.exe, selecting firmware, setting baud rate, writing, and verifying version. EEPROM Initialization: After firmware update, initialize EEPROM using Factory Mode and CLEAR key to ensure proper memory of settings.
