- To Service Personnel: Critical components marked with ⚠ must be replaced with parts of equal specification to the originals.
- Leakage Current Measurement (120V Models): Verify insulation of all exposed conductive surfaces. Leakage current must not exceed 0.5mA. Test with AC plug in both polarities.
- Laser Safety: Do not attempt to readjust, disassemble, or repair the laser pick-up unless specified. Keep eyes and skin more than 30 cm away from the laser pick-up unit during servicing. Do not stare at the laser beam.
- Electro Static Discharge Prevention: Static discharges can destroy expensive components. Ground yourself to the ground buss in the unit.
- Handling Optical Pickup: Both ends of the laser diode are short-circuited for protection. Remove short circuit according to the manual. Do not use a tester to check the laser diode. Handle the traverse unit gently; flexible cable lines may break. Do not adjust the semi-fixed resistor for laser power.
- Self-Diagnosis Functions: The unit includes an optical pickup self-diagnosis function and a tilt adjustment check function. Use these for effective diagnosis and adjustment before replacing the optical pickup.
