The MFC06 offers two modes: PGM (Program) and EFFECT.
In PGM mode, the 1/COMP to 5/REV footswitches transmit MIDI Program Change messages 1 through 5 to select corresponding programs on the FX500. The LED above the pressed footswitch indicates the selected program.
In EFFECT mode, the 1/COMP to 5/REV footswitches toggle the corresponding FX500 effect stages ON or OFF. The selector footswitch indicators do not light up in this mode.
This footswitch selects between PGM and EFFECT modes, with corresponding LEDs indicating the active mode.
