Operation

The MFC06 offers two modes: PGM (Program) and EFFECT.

PGM Mode

In PGM mode, the 1/COMP to 5/REV footswitches transmit MIDI Program Change messages 1 through 5 to select corresponding programs on the FX500. The LED above the pressed footswitch indicates the selected program.

EFFECT Mode

In EFFECT mode, the 1/COMP to 5/REV footswitches toggle the corresponding FX500 effect stages ON or OFF. The selector footswitch indicators do not light up in this mode.

PGM/EFFECT Footswitch

This footswitch selects between PGM and EFFECT modes, with corresponding LEDs indicating the active mode.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No MIDI data transmitted PGM/EFFECT switch is pressed Press one of the selector footswitches (1/COMP-5/REV).
Interference with radio/TV reception MFC06 is placed too close to sensitive equipment Move the MFC06 further away from the affected equipment.
Batteries drain quickly Using non-alkaline batteries or not using the AC adapter when available Use alkaline batteries and/or the AC adapter.
