Precautions

  • Avoid Excessive Heat, Humidity, Dust and Vibration: Choose a location away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity, dust, and unstable surfaces.
  • Power Up/Down Sequence: Always turn the power amplifier ON last and OFF first to avoid damaging pops and speaker damage.
  • Connections: Ensure the power is OFF before making or removing connections. Match speaker and amplifier polarity. Disconnect cables before moving the system.
  • Speaker Protection: Use amplifiers with appropriate power output. Avoid feedback, continuous high sound pressure levels, distorted signals, and popping noises from connecting/disconnecting components while the amplifier is on. The Poly Switch protects the high-frequency driver (or woofer on the SW118IV) from excessive power and automatically resets after a brief power interruption.
  • Speaker Stands: Use recommended stands (TS-30 or TS-33) for S112IV, S115IV, SM10IV, SM12IV, SM15IV. Use only one speaker per stand on a solid, level surface.
  • Suspension: Handles are for transportation, not suspension. "A" versions are designed for suspension. Consult a qualified engineer and use appropriate hardware.
  • Connecting Speakers: Daisy-chain speakers (max two 8Ω speakers per amplifier channel) using 1/4" phone jacks. Use unshielded speaker cable with stranded conductors.
  • SW118IV Subwoofer & PN90 Crossover: Follow connection examples and polarity reversal instructions carefully to avoid damage.
