Viewing and Focusing

All operations are done through a single window, eliminating parallax issues. The Pentamatic uses a bright fresnel viewing screen for easy focusing. Bring the subject into focus by rotating the focusing ring. Adjust lens aperture and shutter speed for proper exposure.

Shutter Speed

Controls exposure duration. Speeds include 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 second, Bulb (B), and 'X' (electronic flash). Use a tripod for 'B' setting and long exposures. 'X' is for flash synchronization at approximately 1/60s.

Lens Opening

Controls light entering the camera. The AUTO YASHINON lens offers apertures from f:1.8 to f:16. Lower numbers mean larger openings. Set the aperture by aligning the Aperture Control Ring with the red dot.

Picture Taking

1. Determine correct exposure settings. 2. Set the desired aperture using the Aperture Control Ring. 3. Set the shutter speed using the Shutter Speed Dial. 4. Advance the Film Advance Lever to cock the shutter and advance the film. 5. Focus on the subject using the focusing ring. 6. Press the Shutter Release Button to take the picture.
