Preparing to Charge:
- Remove battery if necessary, disconnect grounded terminal first.
- Ensure area is well ventilated.
- Clean battery terminals.
- Add distilled water to cells if needed.
- Study battery manufacturer precautions.
- Charge at lowest rate initially.
Charging Battery (Installed or Outside Vehicle):
- Connect cables ensuring correct polarity (Red to Positive, Black to Negative/Chassis).
- Set Battery Type switch.
- Set Setting switch to desired amperage.
- Plug in charger.
- Monitor charging process until complete.
- Disconnect charger in reverse order.
Engine Starting (12V):
- Connect cables as for charging.
- Set Setting switch to 50A Engine Start.
- Plug in charger.
- Start engine, keeping start attempts brief (max 5 seconds).
Troubleshooting and error codes
