Warranty Summary

The FoodSaver FM2900 is warranted for five years from the purchase date against defects in material and workmanship.

Making a Bag from a Roll:

  1. Open the appliance and place the roll.
  2. Pull out bag material, lower cutter bar and slide bag cutter.
  3. Insert one end across sealing strip.
  4. Close lid, turn Easy Lock Latch to OPERATE.
  5. Press Seal button.
  6. When seal light turns off, sealing is complete.

Vacuum Sealing with Bags:

  1. Place items in bag, leaving 3 inches of space at top.
  2. Open lid and place bag end into Vacuum Channel.
  3. Close lid and turn Easy Lock Latch to OPERATE.
  4. Press Vacuum button.
  5. When seal light is off, open latch and remove bag.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Seal LED flashing
  • Unit is overheated. Allow 20 seconds between seals.
  • Wait 20 seconds between seals.
  • Latch was left in OPERATE position. Allow gaskets to expand.
  • Vacuum pump running more than 120 seconds. Let unit cool off.
Vacuum Pump is running, but bag is not evacuating
  • Ensure bag end is sealed if making from a roll.
  • Adjust bag placement.
  • Check for wrinkles in bag along Sealing Strip.
  • Inspect Gaskets for proper insertion and debris.
  • Latch has been left in OPERATE position. Allow gaskets to expand.
  • Ensure accessory hose is not attached.
  • Ensure lid is fully latched.
Gasket is loose or has a tear
  • Clean and re-insert Gasket.
  • Gasket replacement available for purchase.
Bag is not sealing properly
  • Reduce liquid in bag, pre-freeze if necessary.
  • Check for food debris around seal area, clean Gasket if present.
  • Eliminate wrinkles in bag during insertion.
No lights on the control panel
  • Ensure unit is plugged in and outlet is functional.
  • Ensure lid is fully down and Latch is in OPERATE.
