Warranty Summary

Miller Electric Mfg. LLC warrants the BOBCAT 250 for 3 years parts and 3 years labor, against defects in material and workmanship.

To Start:

  • Check fuel and oil levels.
  • Turn Engine Control switch to Start.
  • Release switch when engine starts.
  • Slowly push in choke if equipped.

Welding Operation:

  • Select weld process using selector switch.
  • Select amperage range using Coarse Range switch.
  • Adjust amperage/voltage using Fine Control.
  • Connect work and electrode cables to output terminals.

Generator Operation:

  • Ensure Fine Control is set to 10 for max power.
  • Connect equipment to power receptacles.
  • Use GFCI protection for auxiliary equipment.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Troubleshooting Table
Trouble Remedy
Low or no weld output; generator power output okay at AC receptacles. Check control settings.
Check weld connections.
Check fuse F2, and replace if open (see Section 8-5).
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check brushes, slip rings, and integrated rectifiers SR2 and SR3.
No weld output or generator power output at AC receptacles. Be sure all equipment is disconnected from receptacles when starting unit.
Check fuses F1 and F2, and replace if open (see Section 8-5).
Check plug PLG6 connection.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check brushes, slip rings, and integrated rectifiers SR2, SR3.
Low weld output. Check fuse F2, and replace if open (see Section 8-5).
Check control settings.
Check engine speed, and adjust if necessary (see Section 8-7 or 8-8).
Service air cleaner according to engine manual.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check brushes, slip rings, and integrated rectifiers SR2, SR3.
High weld output. Check control settings.
Check engine speed, and adjust if necessary (see Section 8-7 or 8-8).
Erratic weld output. Check control settings.
Tighten and clean connections to electrode and workpiece.
Use dry, properly-stored electrodes for Stick and TIG welding.
Remove excessive coils from weld cables.
Clean and tighten connections both inside and outside welding generator.
Check engine speed, and adjust if necessary (see Section 8-7 or 8-8).
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check brushes, slip rings, and integrated rectifiers SR2, SR3.
